Experience

UI/UX Designer, Consultant- Comcast Philadelphia, PA
September 2014 – July 2016 (1 year 10 months)
Designed the application interface for a distributed system of Java stack AngularJS web application plus API webservices in multiple technologies (Java, Python, Golang, Grunt, Node.js, github) for Scheduling, Reporting and associated book keeping of Comcast’s flagship feature iVOD (Instant Video on Demand). I used UI and UX best practices, user research-personas, Adobe CS, balsamiq, Axure, HTML5, CSS3, JS, JQuery and bootstrap to design the front-end and contributed to the JS coding, plugins, grid framework and angularJS structure working closely with the java based programing team. Maintained project documentation (functional, design requirements, project wiki). The result of my work is a scalable, easy to use and high standard UI that meets and exceeds the requirements of Comcast’s business organizations.
As their WordPress consultant I led the Redesign of the Comcast VIP Partner Portal. When they approached me to redesign the Partner site it was showing it’s age, was featureless and the site look dated. This meant the project quickly developed into a full featured re-design. Re Branded as the Comcast VIP, now it is extremely complex and offers the partners numerous ways to download, share, promote and justify ideas. One of the main challenges was settling on a design that would retain the Comcast “feel” but be unique and still cope with expanding business opportunities in years to come. Another challenge was to design the administrative UI to be as intuitive, simple and streamlined as possible and distraction free to allow the operators to be able to complete their tasks easily. The original design was presenting large amounts of information with no way for users to organize the content they were viewing. I introduced advanced filtering options to ensure users could easily add, update and discover information, making sure every page would scale in a number of ways. Developed an easier way to harness the documentation, information and insights for Comcast partners that had not previously been considered.
